01
1958 – Foundation
Amchong Tea Estate was born from the hills of Assam β€” a proudly Indian-owned plantation with roots predating independence, built on the vision of producing world-class tea from local hands.
02
1977 – Ownership Transition
The Khemka family took complete ownership of the estate, bringing with them a long-term vision for growth. The estate expanded to over 1,700 acres, and rubber and teak plantations were introduced alongside tea.
03
1990s–2000s – Modernization
Amchong invested in upgrading its processing facilities and built out its own packaging and distribution infrastructure β€” laying the groundwork for what would become a national presence.
04
2010s–Present – Global Reach
The estate began exporting to 20+ countries, earned certifications across ISO, GMP, FSSC, and Trustea, and introduced Orthodox Tea β€” cementing its position in the premium segment worldwide.
05
2020 – Tea Tourism Launch
Amchong Park & Resorts opened its doors, inviting visitors to experience the estate firsthand β€” guided tea tours, tastings, and adventure activities, hosted within the original colonial-era Collector's Bungalow.
